My husband works in that area and even though it's in Hampton, it's actually closer to many of the neighborhoods in Yorktown and Poquoson than it is to the ones in Hampton. The prices may be higher in York but the taxes are lower. That, along with actually being short away may even things out a bit. With Hampton Roads Pkwy right there, you can jump on the interstate and even get up to a few Newport News quicker. Even taking the interstate to Mercury and across the James River will put you in Smithfield (Isle of Wight) neighborhoods like Eagle Harbor within 20 minutes. There are some great builders there and absolutely great deals in new construction. Plenty in Hampton, too and you've got some pretty good options. If you don't already have an agent, I'll be glad to give you and your family a tour and explain the differences in distance, taxes and help coordinate school visits so you can grade each one yourself.

Hello Danny - congratulations on your move to Hampton Roads - you job location is within minutes of great shopping, entertainment, colleges/universities - there are new constructions sites that are within 15-20min from your new work place. You have a choice of condos, townhomes, and single family homes.
