I raise my children in Ocean Springs and love the security that we have here. The close-knit community as well as the school district is one of the best in the state of Mississippi. New construction in this area runs about $80-$95 sq. ft. for a nice home. Of course, there are also many very nice homes in the $95k - $225k range that have been selling like hotcakes in the past few months and are great deals for buyers. Ocean Springs is a composite of many neighborhoods - they all have sub-division names. We have many houses in all price ranges from $100,000 up to $600,000. It is a very friendly city, we have many events that are social, educational and artistic. We have a downtown shopping area, resturarants, beach, inner harbor, and we have water sports, walking, gyms, etc. to keep you in good health. Overall, it is a really nice place to live. Northrop Grumman is only minutes away from our town, many of their employees live in Ocean Springs, that includes my husband and son.
