Hi Sue

Its always tough to move to a new area, my wife is a school teacher here and she did a great deal of research from CA, we then visited the area for a week and made our decision to build a new home here. My brother lived in Oregon City and gave us some suggestions while we were looking, we found as much as everyone tried to push us in one direction or another for ocations, we found we just fit better in the area we picked, if you are able, come spend a few days and really tour the area, drive the routes, visit Portland and see what every place has to offer. My wife, our four children and I have loved the great Northwest and its seasons and am sure you and yours will as well. Here is one website we found helpful when looking at schools for our kids (http://www.greatschools.org)

Thank you

Hi Sue

Ahh, didn't see the other question you had about your husbands place of employment. There are some nice areas right in Fishers Landing and in Camas, best to give me a call and I can discuss the different areas and subdivisions with you.

Thank you

Hi Sue

We moved up from Santa Barbara a little over 10 years ago and love the area, I am happy to help and you can call me anytime, many relocating families like the schools and ease of access from Salmon Creek, Felida, and Mt. Vista areas as they are where I-5 & I-205 meet, there is also WSU, the Legacy Salmon Creek regional hospital, Safeway, Albertsons, and our favorite as they didn't have in CA is the Fred Meyers shopping center. I would be happy to show you around, here is my contact information and some websites to view listings.

Thank you

Hi Sue,

The answers are all correct. I think one thing to consider is the type of scenery you like as well. Newer or more mature neighborhoods, schools, and the type of HOA if one is present.
Washougal has some excellent prices, and is a great area since it is a smaller community with all the ammenites just 5 or so minutes away down Hwy 14. I find the prices here to be very competitive, and there are some subdivisions that have some larger lots, and great views. Camas is so spread out there are many nice subdivisions that would be great as well. The Camas school district is rated the best in Clark county, and is also close to Portland and has some very good areas that have views as well.

To make it easy for you to do some research, my website has links and info to all of Vancouver and surrounding areas so you can get a good idea of what you may be looking for. Detailed information about all of our areas, ammenities, and you can actually search right from my site and look at these areas, homes, and community perks right from there. It's kind of one stop shopping. You can set your own search up there, and explore all of your optiohs. I was born and raised here in Vancouver and I know the areas well. Check out my website and you can contact me directly from there. Easy and simple. You can determine what areas you may find desireable and I can asssit you in bringing you up here seamlessly. Just a note about our market here, our inventory is very low,, and our prices are increasing. In some cases, we are going to new construction to fit our buyers needs.

Welcome to Clark County. It's absolutely beautiful here.

Hi Sue,

Dublin is a great area, both my sons live and work in the East Bay, but you will love Vancouver! East Vancouver and Camas are closest to where your husband will be working, but I agree with several of the other Realtors, Vancouver has lots of wonderful areas, and it is so much easier to get around than the Bay area. You can literally be anywhere in 20 minutes, maybe 25 during rush hour. : )

As an Exclusive Buyers Agent, I can send you a wants and needs sheet, you and your husband can let me know exactly what you desire in your new home. It's a great time to buy a house in this area. Low interest rates, and plenty of home selection at different price points including pre-owned and new construction.

Please feel free to contact me. If not, welcome to Vancouver! As a transplant from California's Central Valley who has lived here for over 20 years, it is a great place to live. I know you'll like it.

Hi Sue, I had answered your question in a more detailed manner on one of the other questions you posted.

I have created a customized MAP search for you.. would be able to customize it further, with direct communication, but the address you provided is on the MAP with a gold star.. and houses for sale in the nearby viscinity. There are many great neighborhoods, but be sure and ready the response on the other question. Also, additional ammenities such as golf courses, swim clubs, schools and more can be custom mapped for you.

thanks for the opportunity to serve you.

Hi Sue--

There are a number of excellent neighborhoods within 10-15 minutes of your husband's new work location. Which ones are the best for you will depend on how much you want to spend on a home or place to rent, whether you like newer or older homes/neighborhoods, whether schools are important to you, and what lot size will work for you.

I'm happy to help you with determining more specifics if you will contact me with more information about what you are hoping to find.

Camas and the East county are Close to the Airport if you need to travel..
Downtown offers some classy vintage homes and a close neighborhood feel.
Salmon Creek, Hazel Dell offers easy commutes, good schools (Schools are uniformly good here)
There are lots of pocket neighborhoods that a good realtor can show you that might be just the thing... I think that is the secret here.. Establish a connection with an experienced local Realtor. They will listen as you explain what it is you envision when you think of your NW experience... Then they can help you realize that dream.

Hello Sue,
We have many wonderful neighborhoods here in Vancouver and the Camas area. I'd be happy to send you some listings of homes in these neighborhoods. Just a few questions for you on the type of home you are looking for will help me to send you listings that are fitting. What price range would you like to search for? How big of a home? Do you prefer a new home or pre-owned?

Warmest Regards ~

Hi Sue!
My name is Evie Hampton and I am a full time real estate broker with Re/Max equity group in Vancouver, WA. There are alot of great subdivisions in the Vancouver area. I myself moved up here 9 years ago from Southern California and just love it up here! If you would like to reach me, I would be more than happy to send you a relocation packet and start searching for homes near the Camas area! My direct line is 360-609-0086.

Hope to hear from you!
