are stuck renting here. We are in quite the dilema because we can only afford about $1200/mo or so and that MUST include our property taxes. We have very little for a down payment. We want a GOOD school district for our child..we are renting the cheapest place that we could find (under 700/mo) I hate to even spendd $1200/mo on rent..will that buy us anything in a good area?

Hi Bethany,
You should be able to find something in your price range. What you need is a good Realtor to help you. Step one is to contact a mortgage professional to make sure that you are qualified to buy and if not, what you can do to fix that. Then contact a Realtor to begin the search. Amanda

Bethany,
You do have some options. Have you considered what towns have school systems that meets your needs? If you look on my website, there is a link to ratings for schools that can help you decide. Once you have narrowed down the list of towns that you would consider, then you can start looking at properties.
Something that might help your situation is buying a multi-family. That way you would have 1 or 2 other people helping you pay your mortgage.
Please give me a call at (860) 736-1002 and I can talk to you about how this could work for you.
