We don't mind the need for cosmetic updates but don't want to take on a renovation project. Looking between $400k and $500k.

Hi, Kelly.

There are many wonderful antique homes available in the Greater Hartford area. Your best bet is to directly contact a local Realtor who can get a detailed "wish list" of what you like in a home to then email property information to you. Some buyers prefer to drive by the homes on their own to see the surrounding area prior to making an appointment to go inside. If you see a home advertised, your Realtor can verify the property is, in fact, still available and get you additional information about it.

If you are from the area and are familiar with the towns, you probably have towns you prefer. If new to the area, your Realtor can give you town by town information as you consider where to buy.

As an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) I specialize in working with buyers. My office is centrally located in South Windsor and I service the entire Greater Hartford area. I work with many clients from the area as well as those relocating into Connecticut.

I would be happy to assist you with your home search and welcome the opportunity to meet for a no-obligation consultation at which time we could discuss the current inventory of available homes. Please visit my website which is listed below to learn more about me and the services I offer.

I also have a listing in Portland Ct, that is 15 mins from Hartford. It is in a country setting next to a water fall. Has been totally updated and renovated. New Plumbing, electrical, bathroom, but still retains that older charm. There is also a barn on the property. The home is C.1855. Hi Kelly,
There are many many vintage homes surrounding Hartford. A great place to start is to take a look at these two publications.
http://www.thevalleybook.com which highlights the Farmington Valley. West Hartford has there own which is http://www.westhartfordbook.com and then http://www.therivervalleybook.com which highlights the Glastonbury area.

Then, let me know when you will be coming to town and I can arrange a tour of the areas for you as well as show you a few homes.

Let me know if you have any questions on the area and contact me with a little more information on what you are looking for so I can begin a search for you.

Sincerely,
Amanda
