My fiance and I are currently under contract to purchase a home for $103,000 with an fha 30-fixed loan. We

are trying to get a gift from my family to help with the down payment. Since we are not married yet, my family is not technically my fiance's - and he is the only one that will be on the loan due to certain circumstances. Our broker is not sure if my family will qualify as an allowable gift source. He also says that no lenders accept gifts from employers - is this accurate information? We would like to ask his employer for a gift rather than my family, but now we're not sure if we can. Can anyone help?

It may be best to ask your lender. It really depends on your loans program and what the terms are. Without knowing what type of loan you are using it is too hard to answer your question. Let us know.
