but have a special needs child. Can you recommend any particular cities with homes $400,000 and under. My husband likes Sturbridge but it may be too rural when it comes to medical resources.

Hi Bobby, my son grew up in Natick to age 6, after Dover as a pre-schooler. Natick fought his interests as a special needs student every step of the way. Fortunately, we found out about a school in Lincoln, Ma., the wonderful Carroll School, which changed his life as a student toward amazing success. He then began high school in Brookline, Ma., the most renowned choice in the state, receiving encouragement and leading to stellar achievements including multiple scholarships in college. NorthboroSouthboro system would have had him in a 'remedial' program with little eventual prospects there. If your child has learning disablitiies that ARE treatable, then get he or she in the right place. You can 'google' my statements to get an assurance of my advice. Good luck Bob .

Hello Bobby. Are you still looking to move, or have you found a home? If you are still looking, then you may want to consider the following towns: Sturbridge, Charlton, Holden, Westborough, Natick, Grafton.

I live in Sturbridge. In fact, my family moved here from Natick about five years ago. Natick is a great town, but we found less traffic and more home for the money in Sturbridge. We greatly enjoy the parks and ponds in this area, along with the fabulous restaurants and schools.

Please let me know if you still need help, and take a look at my Sturbridge community web site (below). Best regards.

Sturbridge is nice there is a Hospital located in the next town of Southbridge (Harrington Hospital) and in Worcester of course you have several large hospitals with the UMass system and St. Vincents. Holden may also be a possibility Just north of Worcester and handy to hospitals. Paxton is also nice just south of Holden and north of Worcester and some parts of Worcester are very nice. Hope this helps.

Bobby, I would suggest you use a forum like this one to speak with people who live in different areas for their feedback..http://www.topix.com/forum/state/ma
I would also suggest you check this site out, I have used it often.....http://school.familyeducation.com/learning-disabilities/add-…

Once you determine where the best location to live is for your child, then recalculate what you may be able to afford and Begin interviewing agents to hire. Determine what location fits the needs of your child first, then shop.....

Hello Bobby,

I am a Cartus certified relocation realtor. Welcome to Massachusetts! I agree with the other realtors anywhere outside of Worcester is going to be the best for medical attention. Worcester has some of the best hospitals in the country. University of Massachusetts, has several locations right within the city and surrounding towns. Although Sturbridge may seem rural, it has Rt. 20 running right through it as ways as the Massachusetts Turnpike. Fast access to Boston and the western part of the state.

Please feel free to email me: Nancy@C21DeNault.com I'd be happy to assist you in making your move flawless and a smooth transition.

Hi Bobby,

My colleagues here have already given you excellent advice. I would just like to add that my child too is special needs and I have been impressed with the services she has received here in NORTHBOROUGH. Besides the excellent schools, I love the rural feeling Northborough offers, indoor and outdoor recreation, wonderful community base for residents of all ages....yet it is within close proximity to every imaginable service!

Back to your original concern of selecting a town with services for special needs students.... under the "NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND" law, every public school district is required to provide services to all students. Your best bet is to work with a Buyer Agent to help you sort through everything else and match up your requirements to your budget!

And one final note....one other website that my relocating clients tell me is particularly useful is http://www.neighborhoodscout.com.

Good luck!

Welcome to Massachusetts! If you're looking for medical resources, then I would also suggest any towns surrounding the Worcester area too since Worcester has the UMass Medical Center right off Rte 9 and there are some great homes under $400,000 in the city, as well as in the surrounding towns like Shrewsbury, Millbury. Holden, Grafton (all along the Rte 495 belt for commuting to Natick). Plus, you have the Mass Pike that can connect you with Boston within an hour's drive. Within the surrounding towns of Worcester are some nice rural areas, similar to Sturbridge. There is the Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge that isn't too far from Sturbridge. Not too far from Natick is the Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton. South of Worcester, near the RI border has some great towns as well, like Sutton, Northbridge (where I live), and Blackstone that are rural, but are connected by Rte 146 to head to Worcester or even down to Providence, RI within a 20-30 minute drive.

There are so many possibilities to choose from that it might be worth your while to go onto a website like http://www.realtor.com and check out the homes in different towns in MA to see what you can get for the type of price range and critieria you are looking for and decide from there. You can also check out http://www.greatschools.net for a website with feedback of different schools, parent thoughts and discussion groups, etc. It's a nice site for checking out different schools.

If you like, you can go to our Prudential website at http://www.prudentialproperties.com and sign up for an account with me to look at properties at your leisure, put in criteria for a Saved Search and be sent emails on a daily basis as they come on the market for your convenience. It's a great way to get to know the area. Feel free to contact me with any other questions and I wish you well on your search for a new home in MA!

Hi. Welcome to Massachusetts! From where are you moving? If you don't have this information already, I think you might find this link http://www.doe.mass.edu/sped/parents.html helpful. What are you most looking for in your home? What about Sturbridge does your husband like?

You can find some nice homes in and around Natick for $400,000 ... especially in Framingham. Perhaps these reports on the schools would help you http://profiles.doe.mass.edu/search/map.aspx?mode=g&coun… http://profiles.doe.mass.edu/search/map.aspx?mode=g&coun… and http://profiles.doe.mass.edu/search/map.aspx?mode=g&coun…

Please let me know if I can be of more help!
