Julie,
Try these two web sites:
Greatschools.net and reportcard.cde.state.co.us/reportcard
Each County School district has free relocation packages that they will send out. The counties in Littleton are Jefferson, Arapahoe, and even a little Douglas County thrown in. Also if you are working with a larger Real Estate Company, they all have relocation packets that can be sent out. If you have an agent that you like in PA then they could refer a Real Estate Broker, or Property Manager if you want to initially rent. I wish you luck.
Colorado is a great place to live. Great selection of public and private schools.

Where in Littleton? There is the actual town of Littleton, and then many areas that are included in the Littleton mailing address but are really unincorporated Jefferson County. You will either be in the Littleton School System or Jefferson County Public School system, google those and you will find out some info.

I suggest looking into Lakehurst West and Ken Caryl.
Have your Realtor look into areas along Simms and Wadsworth between quincy and chatfield. It's a nice part of town

My website lists a couple additional online resources at: http://www.coloradocommissionrebate.com/finding-city.html#5

Also, regardless of all these website resources we've identified, there is no substitute for showing up (scheduled or not) and getting a feel for the "vibe" and/or sense of community that the particular school has going.

And I agree: Littleton area is a great choice and you'll have plenty of great options!

Being that you appear to be the self-directed type who likes to do the research yourself, my services could be a good fit for you...check out my site and let me know if I can help!

Also, there are many great neighborhoods in and around Littleton. Here are just a few.

Powderhorn in South West Littleton - homes priced between 200,000 to 250,000 and built between the 80's to early 90's
Westgold Meadows - homes priced from 250,000 to 320,000 built in the late 80's to early 90's
Columbine Knolls - homes built in the 60's to 70's priced from the 250,000 to 450,000
Foothills Green - homes priced from 225,000 to 350,000 and built in the 70's to 80's some early 90's
Governors Ranch - homes priced from the 275,000 to 450,000 built 80's to 90's
Old Littleton - homes price from the 180,000 to 600,000 built in the 50's to 70's

There are really so many good neighborhoods in Littleton and if you are working somewhere in Littleton you can find great neighborhoods that should be close to your work.

Hi Julie, I saw your question originally on Twitter.

Littleton is a fabulous area. You can find information directly about the school several ways. Many folks like seeing the reports offered by the school district & states themselves- http://reportcard.cde.state.co.us/reportcard/CommandHandler.jsp
The Littleton area is going to mainly encompass 2 different school districts depending on which area you decide on. The old town Littleton and parts that are on the more east side of Littleton will bring you into the Littleton Public School District. If you wind up more on the west side of Littleton and even in toward the foothills, you will be in the boundaries of Jefferson County School District.
If Littleton is where you will be working and you are looking to commute there as your question hints at, you have many more options as well - Highlands Ranch would also be a very viable option for you to consider as well as other areas in the Douglas County School District. In fact, when you are searching for homes, many Highlands Ranch homes show result wise as Littleton.
As far as specific neighborhoods - much of that will depend on your price range. You will have great options in a variety of ranges.
Welcome to Colorado, you will love it here! Feel free to visit my blog for more local info on Littleton & the surrounding area.

Hi Julie,

Schools within Littleton fall in two different schools districts. One is Jefferson County and the other is Arapahoe County. Both are great and there are a ton of family friendly neighborhoods! Some have pool, tennis facilities which provide great opportunities to meet other families. Ken Caryl, Bow Mar, Coventry area in west Littleton and Homestead Farm, Heritage Greens, Cherry Knolls to the East (Arapahoe/Holly area) are all great neighborhoods that might fit your search parameters. I recently had a family from PA move to the neighborhood of Heritage Village and they love it! What is your price range? How old are your children? Do you like the outdoors and want to be close to parks/bike paths? I have two elementary aged children in Littleton schools. I live and sell homes in these areas. For more info on schools, you can go to our Re/Max website:

Julie, I would love to hear more specifically what you and your family are looking for and am available this morning to take your call.

If I don't hear from you, good luck to you and your family. You are moving to a wonderful place to raise a family!

Julie-
You have come to the right place.
You can visit my website at http://www.BuyKenCaryl.com. You will find community and school info for you to review. As an 18 year residen tof littleton, I can give you additional information that you won't find published. I have 3 kids that have gone to 2 different local high schools.
Littleton offers the small town feel close in to the city centre with Xmas parades. Further West, you find the family oriented community of Ken Caryl for folks who like an outdoor lifestyle.
Give me a call and we can talk about school options as they relate to the different neighborhoods.
