We have no debt now,, no credit cards. My husband has a decent income, over $4000 a month. We are waiting for our credit score to go up and we are wondering if its too early to look into a home loan. Think there is any possibility of an approval?

Becky,

I assume that you've contacted at least one local lender based upon information in your question. Here are some other places

http://www.hud.gov/local/index.cfm?state=mi Look under Homebuying programs to see if you qualify.

good morning.....the below listed answer is a great one.....also, make sure that the secured credit card(s) you apply for report to the repositories, not all of them do......lastly.our company just landed an opportunity to take on fha borrowers with a 580 fico score or higher.....it is a new program and we don't have all the details, but it is a great thing for clients with some credit dings to still be eligible for financing...do you have direct relatives that would go on the deal?........best regards...... bob mcclure- success mortgage partners- plymouth, michigan.....

Hi Becky Homebuyer,

Let's start with your husband in trying to get credit established. The fastest way to do this is perhaps start with a local credit union one that offers home mortgages might be good,. Apply for a "secured credit card," you can also use my website which I will share with you later. This means that you put down $500 dollars and get a credit card with a limit of $500 use that card to purchase gas and groceries and keep adding funds this is why a local credit union is preferred its local and accessible to you I hope. Then once your husband has proven that he can "service" debt ask for credit limit increases. This process is 6-9 months for him in order to establish credit.
As for your credit. Your score might be low because you already have too much 'debt' on your credit cards. If you are carrying balances of 30% more than the credit limit than you will want to lower the balances so that you only have balances of 30% or less of the credit limit. This is FREE information for you some companies charge $99.00 just to tell you this.
If your credit score is low because you have late payments, car repos and other 'negative' items listed on your credit reports then this is credit repair and this is something that I would be happy to assist you with. Please feel free to contact me and I can assist you with repairing your credit. Here is my website for your husband's secured credit card as well as my credit repair for you if you wish to take action. Good luck!
