Tempe is a wonderful city that has a number of good areas that you might enjoy. What type of property are you considering? Single family or a town home/condo lifestyle? Do you desire to be close to ASU and Mill Avenue for all that it offers or are you thinking further away from that scene?

What about schools, is that a factor for you? Price range? Do you like newer homes or older homes? Are you OK with two stories? Do you want a garage?

Sorry for all of the questions but it really is the only way we can begin to identify your want and needs so that we can become helpful to you.

I would be glad to represent your family in this very important decision. I have been representing buyers in Tempe since 1998 as a full time Realtor.

Greendog, a lot of questions need to be answered before you start looking in Tempe. If you are looking for 4 or more bedrooms, you may want to be looking in areas closer to the Chandler border. Are you ok with being close to ASU and some neighborhoods with a higher ratio of tenants? Do you want to be closer to the busline and light rail? How much can you afford? Do you want to be in a neighborhood with more children or not? Would you consider a duplex and rent out the other half? THere are a ton of variables that I use to help my buyer find an area, so let me know if you are interested and I would be happy to show you some homes in the areas that you think would fit your needs the best. I attended high school in Tempe, then went on to ASU. Tempe is a great area. Some of my favorite areas are: Greystone, Circle G Ranch and Warner Estates. Good luck, dont hesitate to contact me if you need anything.

I like the Tempe Lakes area, which is south of Baseline, North of Southshore, East of Rural and West of McClintock. Excellent location, wonderful clubhouse (pool, racquetball, tennis, volleyball, basketball, gym, etc.) 56 acre private lake, homes with character. Did I mention excellent location?

It will depend upon what your price range is and if you like older homes or newer homes. There are many great areas in Tempe. I you want an area that your kids can walk to all the schools, then around Shalimar Golf course is a great area. There you are within walking distance to all schools grade school through high school. They have a variety of price ranges in this area as well.

Greendog,

There are many great areas in Tempe, the key will be narrowing down the right area for your specific needs and wants. Are you looking to be near ASU and the MIll Avenue area? Would a condo/townhome or single family home be better for your needs? There are both older and newer neighborhoods in Tempe with many different advantages to each. I would be happy to sit down with you, discuss your specific needs/wants and help you find the perfect home for yourself and your wife. Now is a great time to buy in Arizona! Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Tempe has excellent schools. My children were raised attending Tempe schools. The Kyrene School District includes all the elementary and middle schools in the southern part of Tempe. I recommend the Oasis, Estate La Colina, Chelsea Manor, Alta Mira, Corona del Sol Estates and Warner Estates. For horse lovers there is the Circle G Ranches, Buena Vista Ranchos, Sunburst Farms and Calle de Caballos neighborhoods. All great neighborhoods to raise a family! Please contact me for further information about Tempe and how I can best assist you in finding a home that is perfect for you and your family.

Dear Green:

If you like urban living, the lofts in downtown Tempe are great. There are quaint, but solid block homes in the perimeter of ASU (a bicycle ride away from school). Are you looking to be near ASU? Condos, townhomes, older homes near campus or a planned community?
