My Realtor is telling me that an email response to a signed counter offer is a legal binding contract... true?

Erin

My realtor has stated that she has an email from the sellers accepting our counter offer and that it will bind the contract. I cannot get a signature for 4 days. Is this true? Or am I setting my self up for disappointment should they entertain another offer?

With technology you should be able to sign any dcoument if all else fails go to local office center pay receive a fax and return back to your agent as fax OR Fed Ex with your earnest money. If e signature YES that could be binding.

Hi Erin,

It has to be an e-signature on an actual contract. If it's just an e-mail that's not going to fly. I would definitely get an e-signature as fast as you can. Your agent should have access to electronic documents and can put this together for you. I wouldn't take a house off the market for an e-mail!

Good luck.
