My Husband and I are relocating to the Raleigh area. We would like to be in the Davis Drive Elementary
school area.. Our price range is 450-600. Can anyone please suggest neighborhoods that would fit this criteria? Thanks!

Heather,
I moved from Bethesda, MD. I have been very pleased with the schools so far. Not sure where in Md you are coming from but Davis Drive is a great school and several of my friends are teachers there and are very happy to be there. This school is also traditional and not year round. If you need further assistance I would be more than happy to help. You have plenty to choose from in your price point. You should look into green hope elem as well. GH is probably the best school systems in the area. I would look into preston if your range is from 450-600. Also look into preston village, you'll love the neighborhood.

I live in this school's footprint, and I would be glad to share information with you. The Wake School system is reassigning a multitude of these students to a year round school that is opening in July. There are several local "message" boards with day to day updated information - so if you still have questions - please call us. Overall - I would tell you that our children went to DDE and our daughter is at DDM - we love this area and the schools!

Hi Heather, first of all may I say welcome to the Raleigh/Cary area! What a superb choice you have made. The others are correct in that Wellsley (with 5 actives) and Upchurch Farms (with 1 active) are assigned to the Davis Elementary School - today... However since this area is growing exponentially it's so important to keep in mind that reassignments are inevitable.
May I ask what has made you decide on Davis Elementary? I know I have clients in Green Hope Elementary and Highcroft that love it too. You might also like the new Turner Creek elementary as well. You can learn so much about all our school areas by visiting the official Wake County School website at http://www.wcpss.net. By having a full understanding of all the schools in our area you’ll then have many more home choices. Hello Heather,
My wife and I moved from Alexandria Va, 7 years ago, and we have found this area wonderful. I also would be hesitant to make a home buying choice on Wake County Schools, as they seem to change frequently, however both neighborhoods offered are great choices, I would be happy to help you find a new home, just contact me via my website. Heather,
I am in the process of helping a buyer from South Carolina find a home in the Enloe School District. We have had great help from the Wake Country School District with maps that pertain to the boundaries of each school district and also phone consultations with my client. I have a contact there but his information is at the office. If you would like it, just send me an email through my web site and I can get it to you on Monday. Best Wishes! Hi Heather,
Lizete is right. Both Wellesley and Upchurch Farms have base schools of Davis Drive. Wake County has just finished another round of school re-assignment. Many communities which used to be Davis Drive district have been re-assigned to other schools, like Laura Park (brand new elementary school). There is no guarantee on school assignment based on a home address. Re-assignment almost occurs every other year in Wake county. Some relocation families would prefer to rent a home for a year or two. In this way, they have an opportunity to get to know this area and schools. I'd think twice on buying a home based on the 'school assignment'. This is not something that you have any control. The county school board makes the decision for you. Please let me know if you need any help to find a good rental home. Thanks, Jean Sat May 10 2008, 19:58 Web Reference: http://www.nctrianglehomesfinder.com

Hi Heather,
Wellesley and Upchurch Farms are two subdivisions that meet that criteria, they are resales. Are you looking for new construction or resale? Let me know if you need anything else. Regards, Lizete Sat May 10 2008, 19:34 Web Reference: http://www.LizeteSantos.com
