Hi Angie,

Sugar Land is a great place to raise a family and call home. I grew up here and my husband and I are now raising our 2 girls here as well. Its very community oriented with many activities for kids and families.

There are many great neighborhoods for you to consider in Sugar Land. Greatwood, Riverstone, First Colony, Commonwealth, Avalon, Orchard Lakes, Sugar Lakes, Telfair, Sugar Mill, New Territory, and many more.

I would love to speak with you about the area. I've seen the growth and changes first hand and can be a great resource for you. Please feel free to call me at 832-752-3509. You can learn more about me and my real estate services and background at http://www.SugarLandLiving.com. I'm a partner in my Brokerage and that website is http://www.PrimePropertiesTX.com.

I see you're from Alabama. I used to live in Huntsville! Where you live in Sugar Land really depends on your budget. Home prices for Sugar Land subdivisions range anywhere from the low $100,000 to over $1 million. There are so many master-planned communities in Sugar Land that offer excellent schools and family-friendly, recreation-driven amenities. There are 11 exemplary (4-star) and 12 recognized (3-star) schools in the Sugar Land area.

To get a feel for the area, visit my website at http://www.richmondtxhomesales.com/affiliates.asp
Click the link to a Sugar Land subdivision to see a complete description of the neighborhood including price range, maps, photos, tax info, school ratings, and a list of homes for sale.

I recently did a blog about school ratings in SL: http://activerain.com/blogsview/3773442/state-accountability…

I hope this information is a start. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

That's a difficult answer unless you also indicate the value of home you can afford (or wish to buy). The best High School is Clements located near Sweetwater south of Highway 6 and west of Highway 59. There are several planned urban communities like Telfair, Riverstone (where I live), New Territory, Sienna, and numerous others all of which have very good schools. I chose Riverstone because of the proximity to Sweetwater Country Club several years back. My wife and I wanted a family style club that has tennis, golf, swimming, and several other activities so our son could spend time there.

The location and type of home is really dependent on your desires and requirements. Sugar Land is an excellent place to live and a very good choice for raising a family. The cost of property is far less than most desirable places inside Houston.

If you are seeking other information about communities inside the Sugar Land and Missouri City area visit my website. There is home statistical data, links to other websites with useful information about communities, the ability to research schools, and a map feature that allows you to customize a search for homes and see what is available. Some of this information is also available on the Houston Association of Realtors website at http://www.har.com.

If you have other questions or just need advice and suggestions feel free to email, text, or give me a call.
