Ashit Patel, Home Buyer in Cary, NC

Moving - Need Realtor/Agent

Asked by Ashit Patel, Cary, NC Sat Jun 9, 2012

We're moving from Pennsylvania to RDU area. I'm looking for a small town home in Morrisville/Cary area.
I'd like to stay below $180k.

I'm not sure whether this is a right place for this question, but I would like to know if anyone has a recommendation for a real estate agent. Since I only come to the area over the weekends, I need someone who can show me around over the weekends.

Any help/suggestions will be appreciated.

I would call/interview prospective agents. You can read more about me at http://www.movingwithmatt.com

I personally specialize in helping people find good opportunities in the marketplace. In the past year, I have helped clients buy homes SIGNIFICANTLY below tax/appraisal value.

Regardless of who you chose, I think you'll love this area!

Hi, Ashit,

You will find that most agents work with clients on the weekends, so that should be no problem at all.
There is a nice variety of townhomes, in various styles and locations, all around the Cary-Morrisville area.

Here are 29 townhomes listed on the MLS currently, ranging from built in 2004 to currently under construction:

Personally, I prefer an end unit townhomes, if you can find one you like. With an end unit, you only have a neighbor on one side, and you can usually have windows on three sides.
You should read this brochure from the NC Real Estate Commission to learn more about the agent's role in North Carolina:

By the way, we moved from PA to Cary in 1997!

I just happen to be a real estate agent. Go figure. I tend to think like an investor, though, and my specialty is providing extensive market research. I think buying is the critical time in a real estate investment. I pull data from the multiple listing service (MLS) as far back as it will let me and provide a report with the area and home sales history, absorption rates, days on market, and other critical data points. What's great about the report is I provide it in an easy-to-grasp graphical way, with colored charts that show the data in a graphical format (as well as the actual numbers). I think this information is critical to my clients as part of their decision making process.

Also, I expect to make myself available on weekends, because that's when most people are looking. And I encourage potential clients to talk to more than one agent, so they get a good fit for their needs.

So thanks for asking this question. If I can be of service, I'd like to be.

Hi Ashit,

Welcome to the area! I'm one of the fortunate ones who do not have kids to pool around during the weekends, mine have flown the nest. I've shown many town homes in the Morrisville area and have a client that bought in Breckinridge (loves it too).

Feel free to contact me if you wish and I'd be happy to help or simply answer some of your questions.

Have a wonderful Saturday!
