I'm not sure if you would be interested in sending your kids to a Catholic School, but St. Teresa's is one of the hidden treasures in our area. Tuition is reasonable compared to the other private schools in the area, and the class size can't be beat. You can check out their website at http://www.stteresas.org, or call them at 229-436-0134. If you want to send your kids to public schools, I would certainly live in Lee County rather than Dougherty county, though that would be quite a drive to the Marine Base every day. If you decide to live on base, there are lots of families that live there and send their kids to St. T's - you could probably find a good carpool.
Hope this helps, and you should love the Albany area.
