Looking for buyer agent in Brookline on hunt for a 5,000 sq foot family home

Looking into bringing family over from Europe -- need to find a great buying agent who is transparent and sophisticated. I am a very experienced property buyer and want someone to partner with to find the right house for my family of five, who can optimise access and help me negotiate, as well as give me a view on local area. Brookline is prime target though I will look at Newton's best villages too.

Early insights on price per sq foot, land value, best schools are also welcome :-) We are under 40 and quite direct in communication, generally easy to get along with and informal, so style should match too hopefully. Architecture and design conscious (I built my last two houses) with a well defined idea of what we are looking for.

Hello FD,

My office is in Washington Square, Brookline. We do not limit ourselves to just Brookline, but expand into towns such as Newton and Concord. If you will be in town in the near future, I'd be happy to meet with you to determine your wants and needs. If you will not be in town, I have done several transactions via email and phone...with one sale, I never met the client.

If you are new to Massachusetts, there are several towns with excellent school systems and many excellent private schools. Depending where you will be working and how long of a commute they will tolerate, combined with the school system of choice is usually how buyers choose which town the wish to live in. I would be happy to walk you through that convaluted path.

Do you need any financing for this purchase? If so, please let me know.
As you know with that end, we'd need to know the immigration status, etc. US credit score or not, etc...
For what it is worth, I used to live and build homes in the Newton area.

Seeing how this is an international transaction, have you considered looking for a Realtor who is a member of FIABCI/ International Real Estate Federation? They are familiar with all of the requirements and legalities involved with expatriating from a foreign country to here in the United States.

Having European tastes and background, not surprisingly, I have also chosen to be in Brookline and appreciate the subtleties of what you might be looking for and how best to assist you. My office is in Newton (where I also lived for many years) so most of my transactions end up in Newton, Brookline and surrounding towns. I usually start new clients with the phone and face-to-face meeting just to be sure there is a mutual interest :). Early insight about the price/sq: as an experienced buyer, I'm sure you understand, location, condition, and many other factors play a significant role on the price. It isn't always about sq ft, yet this is what you could roughly expect: the single family home with +-5,000 sq ft. in Brookline may range approx. $330-$530 per sq ft.
