Quiet Country feel is Boerne, Tx. See the post by fox news about Boernehttp://www.foxnews.com/travel/slideshow/2012/09/25/top-10-small-towns-2012/?intcmp=features#slide=1

It was just picked as #4 small town in the US by Livability.com. Give me a call and I can set up a direct feed that meets your criteria straight from the MLS in the San Antonio area. 210-284-8844 or cmccanless@cbharper.com

To the north of San Antonio is the Hill Country. It is just a joy to live in such a beautiful place, rolling hills, open ranch land and lovely small towns to explore. Local towns are Boerne, Bandera, Bulverda, Fredericksburg, and Kerrville.

If you could let me know how far out of San Antonio you would like to be, the lot size you would like, and if you want new construction I could send you some properties for you to view.

If you want new construction I work with some very good custom builders.

Thank you,
Allen Stewart

I think if you defined what you call "affordable" this question could be very quickly answered. There are some truly gorgeous areas in the Hill Country around San Antonio, but the area would depend on your budget.

Come see Bandera Texas the "Cowboy Capital of the World". The town of Bandera is the county seat of Bandera County and is located about 30 miles west of San Antonio, 23 miles east of Kerrville and 15 miles south of Boerne. Bandera boasts dozens of Dude Ranches as well as the Medina River which is great for kayaking, tubing, swimming, etc. In the Cowboy Capital of the World there are a lot of horses and cowboys and cowgirls too. Just 12 miles outside of Bandera is the Hill Country State Natural Area which is 5000 acres of beautiful country where you can hike, camp and ride your horse. Every highway and ranch road in Bandera County is designated a scenic route due to the amazing rides and drives you can take through, on and around the hills and valleys. Bandera County is a popular destination for motor cycle and bike riders as well as car clubs etc. Bandera has also been featured in Men's Health Magazine as one of the Top 25 places to live. You can visit my website at http://www.banderatexasrealestate.com and http://www.banderacowboycapital.com for more information. You can also look at some of the other towns in Bandera County which include Pipe Creek, Utopia, Vanderpool, Tarpley, Camp Verde and Medina.
