Thanks all for the response. What I mean by short term investment is we would like to rent the house out until I retire if possible, as I am being stationed in California ;( We do not need to rent it out but if we can great!!!

Good on you for "planning in advance" for retirement! While I'm not sure exactly how you define "short term investment", my only advice there is to be VERY careful. This isn't the best market for short term anything -- it's still way too volatile in my opinion to be thinking short term. Others will almost certainly disagree.

Interview several agents, find one that you "click" with. Trust your gut instinct as it's usually right.
