Looking for a good lender

Asked by Jon Huffington, Austin, TX Wed Sep 18, 2013

I've asked a couple of questions here and have always gotten good advice, so I thought I'd try again. I have been casually looking for a home online for a few months and now I'd like to get serious and get pre-qualified. I have up to 50% to put down (limit is $150k), good debt to income ratio, okay credit score (720) and a good income. What I really want is a cheap rate from a reputable company that can do either a house or a condo. Any suggestions?

Brian Nguyen’s answer
The fact that you have a high down payment, credit score and debt-to-income ratio will already make your interest rate relatively low. Now I recommend you shop and call around to find a lender that best suits you. If you want you can contact me and I can try to connect you with a lender in your area to help you get the best rates and service possible. Good Luck! Hello Jon,

I am a wholesale mortgage broker who works with all of the top lenders in the country. Because I work at the wholesale level my offerings are far below what a retail bank can offer. I have refinanced many Chase, BofA and Wells Fargo bank employees if that gives you an idea of what I can offer.

If you would like to talk about your situation please let me know. You can see some of my client reviews on this website as well as on Zillow under my mortgage broker profile. I also have a Real Estate license as well.

Hope this helps.

PS-Each of the lenders I use is local, does their loans in house so they have more control, and they finance both houses and condos. Also, they consistently beat most other lenders overall with rates, fees, etc. Joe

Jon, I believe I have answered each of your questions thus far. Not only do you need a good lender, but you need a good Realtor to help you as well. As I mentioned in one of my earlier answers today, I would be happy to represent you at no cost to you, have a great team of lenders, inspectors, title people, etc. who assist us throughout the entire process. I do not charge anything for my services, and my lenders do not charge my clients anything for the pre-approval process. They also give my clients preferential treatment as far as fees and rates as I give each of them a few million dollars worth of business each per year. I happen to be one of the top hundred or so agents consistently in the greater Austin area.

Please give me a call at your earliest convenience and I will be happy to talk with you briefly and determine which lender might be the best fit for you and your situation, and also if we might be a good fit to work together as well. I will be unavailable tomorrow until about 1 PM, but should be available after that. If you call and I do not pick up, please leave a message and the best number and time to reach you at, and I will do my best to accommodate. Thanks! Joe

Contact Stewart Anderson at New Horizon Mortgage. As a Realtor I always recommend 2-3 lenders and I have only had 1 client ever that didn't go with Stewart. He's extremely hard working and has access to some great programs and options.
