Our property tax is low compared to other areas. The 2008 Lawrence County tax rate is $3.02 per hundred dollars of assessed value. The key there is assessed value.

For the most part this area is very inexpensive to live here. You can check out my website and you will find links to more information about the area. Now our sale's tax for personal items along with food is high. There is different rates depending on what you buy.

Sales tax in Lawrenceburg is very high compared even to most of Tennessee...about 10.5%. This applies to food as well as merchandise! Many people drive to Florence Alabama (an hour or more away) to do serious shopping. The cost of gasoline makes this less feasible these days.
