Looking at a new construction property in Carteret, NJ.

I was wondering whether the experts feel that paying $355K for a 2500 SF new construction in Carteret, NJ (on the "right side" of Roosevelt Avenue) was a good deal or not, assuming that 355K includes all the upgrades you could possibly want on the property. Thanks in advance!

I assume you are looking at the Astor model at Gateway at Carteret. If fully upgraded, I would say it is a good deal. I would try to negotiate a little more with the builder though. I think what Kaplan is doing by building up areas that were considered less than desireable is great, but you have to hope for resale that the area becomes desireable. They are doing great things though and I think it's a smart purchase. Hope this helps and best of luck! P.S.-Don't forget to consider taxes and monthly maintenance into your payments:)

The address is 17 Roosevelt Avenue - it's one of the new units with Kaplan Communities.

Sounds like a great deal to me. If you want to give me the property address, I can look it up to give you a more definitive answer based on comps.
