Looking To Retire in Sevier County

We are looking for a second home within a close distance to the Dollywood area. Want to avoid mountain driving and would like any
thoughts as to the area we are considering - Seymour, Tn. and
Sevierville. We have seen nice places in both but wonder about
appreciation, tourist traffic and any other future activities we should
take into consideration. When my husband retires, we plan to down
size to this home and live there permanently with the more favorable tax base. Donna

Great time to invest in this area. I recommend that when you find thevhome that suits your needs that you protect your interest and get a Home Inspection. If you need a good home inspector call 423-736-0333.

Jane is right. There are ways to avoid the traffic and mountainous driving. You may check out something close to the new Veterans Blvd. (a great way to get around all the traffic) as well as Seymour.

HI--I am a realtor living in Sevierville, and yes, there are ways to avoid traffic and mountain driving! Both Seymour and Sevierville are good choices--good growth areas and many homes that are built for permanent residents as opposed to rental properties (i.e they have closets!) Seymour is about 20 min from the airport, too. I'd be glad to send you some things to look at!
