Just bought a house I just got a bill from the watercompany saying that there's a lien on the property the title search was clean how can this

happen My Attorney did a title search and everything came back clean there was no liens and stuff how can this happen

You have title insurance and this is exactly what it is for, call your attorney and let him handle it, he probably got close to 60% of the title insurance fee for being the agent, that is legal here in Ct and standard practice.

You should find out when the lien was placed on the property assuming the water company has not made a mistake.

It's also possible it could have been placed after your attorney did their title search and the attorney never did a dropdown (check to make sure nothing popped up since title search was done) before the actual closing.

Assuming that you paid for a Lender's Title Policy,
you should be able to take that bill in to the Title Company and ask them to pay it.
This is what Title Insurance is for.
