Both Trulia and Zillow have homes on their sites that are not listed in the MLS. Some of the homes are just public record information and are not currently for sale. Regarding foreclosures, Trulia is aligned with RealtyTrac and Zillow is aligned with Foreclosures.com. Homes in various stages of the foreclosure process show up with a dollar amount that looks very enticing, although the property is not actually being offered at that price. Unfortunately, this is very confusing to the consumer...and to real estate professionals as well. All I can tell you is that if there is not an actual physical address, the best bet is to contact a real estate professional that has a membership with RealtyTrac and/or Foreclosure.com since they have the ability to go into those services and do some research to find the home in question.

Many consumers do not understand that a home that is in pre-foreclosure may be several months, even more than a year, away from actually being foreclosed. Once the bank does foreclose, there can be several more months before it is released on the market. All the banks use real estate professionals or auctioneers to sell their homes. The banks release the foreclosed inventory onto the market slowly to prevent declines in market values of neighboring properties.

I work with bank owned properties, as well as assist customers in finding bank owned properties. It is a myth that the banks are selling homes below fair market value. The only homes being sold at a deep discount are those homes that are not in move-in ready condition, and many of those homes go to auction. The other homes are put on the market at competitive pricing, but at a price that is reflective of the appraisals and broker price opinions that the bank has received.

jkarzon,

Good evening. As there is not an attached property link or address I am unable to assist you at this time.

Please though understand there is a difference between a bank owned / reo property and a seller's owned / short sale.

Do feel free to contact me directly if i can be of further assistance.
