If you are still looking, there are still $10,000 forgiveable loans for Willard-Hay. Beginning April 2nd, there will be another round of funds available but the new program only offers $5,000 forgiveable loans. The $10,000 forgiveable loans will be available for Willard-Hay, Hawthorne, Harrison and Near North until those are depleted. Best of luck finding a great house! Such an exciting time!

As of this morning there are still enough funds in Willard-Hay to do 4 Minneapolis Advantage loans. I was told that these are 2009 funds so they are not going very fast at all.

Now there are again $10,000 loans at 0% interest that are fully forgiven after the 5th year through NSP 2. For any buyers considering single family, town house or condo foreclosures that are also vacant (rentals not allowed and neither are duplexes or any multi-family properties) in N & NE Minneapolis and many parts of S Minneapolis there are enough of these to last at least through the spring if not longer. For non-foreclosures try Live North for $5,000 in assistance. Neighborhoods in North such as Hawthorne and Jordan have a few thousand up to an additional $7,000 in assistance as well depending on the neighborhood so use any programs together that you can, depending on where you find a house you like!

Hello,
Yes, applications for the Minneapolis Advantage program will be accepted, beginning April 2. It’s not too early to start your search for a home now; a signed purchase agreement is one of the requirements needed in order to begin securing the funds.
