Ryan, Home Buyer in In Transition

Is there any kind of resource that will tell you what the water quality is in New Jersey's many lakes?

Asked by Ryan, In Transition Fri Apr 11, 2008

By resource I am not looking for a 30 page report that I have to sift through and decipher to reach any kind of conclusion, just something that rates the water quality on a 10 point, or good, better, best scale.

I came from a lake community and am going to buy in another, and I would like to know what the water quality is like.

Ryan: Princeton University actually has a department dedicated to this topic. They actually call it a "water watch", and there is a contact e-mail that may be helpful for up to the minute water results:

Here's the site: http://www.princeton.edu/~njh2o/

You may want to check the following water quality site http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/rt. They may head you in the right direction.

Best wishes!
