Hi Tashi,

Weston is an amazing town to live in, and perhaps raise a family. There are products available for first time home buyers, and before you go shopping you should consider speaking with a mortgage broker. Their guidence is valuable and they can help you become knowledgable about what options are available for first time home buyers. Weston does have high end homes, but at the moment there are many homes at attainable prices. It is a great time to buy in Weston!

"A mortgage broker is the best person to help you find a product that fits your financing, oh, and the best part is - they are free."

What?! I just couldn't let this go! Since when is a mortgage broker free?!

Hi Tashi, While it is true there are alot of high end homes in Weston, there are some great values available! This is an excellent community to live in and raise a family with outstanding schools. Feel free to call me to discuss!

Hi Tashi, the first time homebuyers program that I am aware of in Weston has something to do with having a crap load of money and then having parents with another crap load of money. Good luck, Jon

I took advantage of MA/Boston first-time homebuyer programs when I bought my condo in 2006. To qualify, you could not make more than $75K/year. Also, if you had lots of $$ in the bank or owned other real estate, you wouldn't qualify. For these reasons, I can't imagine how you could ever have enough money to purchase something in a community like Weston!

Hi Tashi,
There are all sorts of first time home buyer programs run by different agencies and groups. You may want to check with Mass Housing which is a quasi public state agency that provides below market-rate mortgage financing for first time homebuyers. I believe that they run programs all over the state. For further information: contact Mass Housing at (617) 854 1000 or on the web at http://www.masshousing.com.

Tashi,
With the average sales price over the last six months at just north of $1,600,000 in Weston, MA I would say that is a pretty darn aggressive goal for a first time home buyer! There may be some special financing programs available for first time home buyers (I'm not a mortgage professional), the extremely high average sales price will most likely keep the majority of "first time buyers" out of Weston
