So many factors go in to determining cost of insurance on a home. Probably more important than frame vs block & stucco home is proximity to water, flood plains, proximity to fire dept and hydrants, and replacement cost of the home. My guess is that a block and stucco home is probably significantly older than a frame one, especially in Florida, and that will play a role, since the wiring and construction may be significantly older. Basically, your insurance quote is mainly going to be determined by the location and replacement cost. You will get additional breaks for some things such as roof style, tie downs, etc. Contact an insurance agent for more particulars, and get a number of quotes--shop wisely!!!--there can be significant differences in price and product.
Hello J.,
I suggest you contact an insurance company for a quote. Here are some factors that will determine the cost: square ft., bedrooms, bathrooms, age and type of roof, year built, alarm system etc. Something else to consider is have you had any insurance claims?
I'm sure you know that when you have multiple types of insurance coverage ( e.g., car, R.V. etc,) with the same insurance company, you can get a better rate.
Hope this information helps you.
