Is there a neighborhood in DC city limits that is safe to walk around and take the METRO without having to drive or use a bus to get around?

There are alot of resources that you can use to come to this conclusion. The matter of being safe neighborhood, it is a matter of opinion and for agents ,against the fair housing law. However, you need tp do your own home work . Go out to the neighborhoods that you consider calling home and you would find your answer. DC overal has very easy access to the transpotations. I would say at leaset is one of the cities that easy to get around .

Hi there,

Real estate agents are not allowed by law to answer that question, plus without knowing you personally it would be difficult to answer what you might deem as unsafe.

However, I can direct you to these two very useful websites:

For crime statistics by map -
http://mpdc.dc.gov/mpdc/cwp/view,a,1239,Q,543308,mpdcNav_GID…

For Metro Rail Maps -
http://wmata.com/rail/maps/map.cfm

Also, if you have a vehicle, it might be beneficial to drive around at night and see where there is a lot of foot traffic to give you an idea of where your comfort zone might be.

Hope I have helped!
