If brand new construction is what you are looking for, you will be very limited in the Firewheel area. There are townhomes for sale by Landstar. However, very nearby just up highway 78, you will have an array of choice by several builders in Sachse and Wylie. There is a small pocket in Richardson off Renner that has new single family homes too.

It is a thriving area loaded with shopping and dining. If schools are important to you, Garland ISD has a choice a schools, which means that you don't have to go to the school nearest to your home, you can attend any school within the district and there are many magnet schools too.

The expansion of the turnpike is the only downside for now, you have to put up with the traffic for a few lights during rush hour.

The tax rate is 2.52 because it's in Dallas county. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

I was showing over there all day yesterday! There are 171 homes for sale in that zip code, in all price ranges. as well as propertyv conditions. There are also 2 school districts represented, RIchardson and Garland. They are all great family neighborhoods, most are very well maintained and yes, the resale is good. The thing to watch out for is foreclosures and short sale prices setting your market value.

It also depends on the condition you want the home to be in. Are you looking for a fixer upper or move in ready? Are you looking for schools, location? Just like any other part of DFW, some are areas better than others.
