The Georgia Dream Homeownership Program, administered by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, which includes the Georgia Dream NSP Down Payment Program (link below) is the one to which I was referring, Solomon. According to the voicemail of Angela Gregory earlier today, those funds have all been disbursed.
No, my blog is current. No disrespect intended, but if you'll read her post, Natalie said "The Georgia Dream Program is no longer avaliable" and that is incorrect. The NSP funds are depleted, but the standard GA Dream programs are still very much around.
Home buyers can still get up to $10K interest free and monthly payment free through a second mortgage to be used toward the down payment and closing costs on homes priced up to $252K in metro Atlanta. In addition, there are city and county down payment programs that are either active now or coming online within the next couple of months.

Thank you all for your answers!
That's what I've heard. No more funds. Maybe, I should just say this...."check with your lender". They can get you in the best program. Here in Augusta though, my lenders are saying....no GA dream.
You may need to update your blog, Solomon. The funds have all been disbursed as of June 16, according to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.
Uh...no! Georgia Dream is still very much available along with other down payment assistance programs. Please read the blog below for details.
In response to your question, gross household income is used in qualifying buyers.

Hi James,
The Georgia Dream Program is no longer avaliable. The only no down payment option right now is USDA from what I understand. Check with a local lender or you Realtor to find out if you qualify. Best deal right now is $8000 for 1st time homebuyers if you qualify.

My understanding is that its figures are calculated on your gross income, including both earned and unearned, James. Here is a link that may help you get more information. Good Luck!
