We just listed a waterfront home in Bradenton for $500,000. It's has incredible views, docks, boat lift, heated pool and spa, 3 car garage and 4 bedrooms.

You can view it at http://www.homesinmanatee.com/listing/mlsid/149/propertyid/M…

Hi Liz,
The best way to determine what areas are safe would be to check out this site - FDLE.com. Then you can judge for yourself what areas would be of interest to you. And as for other waterfront communities please call me at 941-345-6087 to get a list of my "Best buy properties".
Thanks and have a great day,

Hello and thank you for your question. I love The Inlets and believe it to be the most AWESOME place to live in Manatee County. The water views are breathtaking. As Bob has suggested below the best place to get info on the crime statistics is through our police agencies online.

As you may be aware, there are many great real estate agents in our area… Rather than having all of them answer your question over and over here on Trulia – you might want to consider contacting a qualified real estate professional that you trust who can help you with all the details involved in the purchase of a new home. If our team would be so privileged to earn your business, we would be thrilled to help you…

"Safe" is a relative and subjective term so keep that in mind. One way of making that decision for yourself is to examine the type and frequency of police or sheriff department crime reports in an area. I use a great website called http://www.crimemapping.com to help my customers make that determination. You zoom in on an area, set the dates and the reporting agencies, and it shows you the reports that match your criteria. In a way, it can be a real eye opener. Even "safe" areas have crime reports. That's what I meant by "relative and subjective".

Regarding affordable waterfront, what price range do you regard as affordable?

Thank you I will check that out. Looking in the $400,000 price range. I would prefer Sarasota over Bradenton.
