Here is a website for you to look that information up on:
http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/fl/crime/

You can also search crime stats for Florida at http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/Content/getdoc/6728cc3e-438c-40e…

I live in Lake County and find most areas to be pretty safe, but you should investigate this for yourself.

Mount Dora is a wonderful area to raise a family, retire, play golf, boating and so much more!

I moved to Mount Dora in 1993 from South Florida. It has always been a great place to live and I feel completely safe at all times. My son and 85 year old mother are happy to live here as well and I am never concerned about their safety.

I am moving to Mt Dora in Jan and am looking to rent a home ...... 2 -3 bedrooms, 2 baths. Prefer no carpet. My ideal rent would not be over $1000.00/ month.

I've lived in Mount Dora for 3 years and have never once felt threatened. Downtown Mount Dora has lots of retirees, art shows, antique shops, and even a bakery for pets... not the kind of place you find criminals.

Hi Ev,

I live in Mount Dora and I feel very safe here but that is my personal opinion based on my person perspective. To learn the facts about crime statistics for the City of Mount Dora, I would have refer you to the Mount Dora Police Dept and the Lake County Sheriffs Dept. for the true facts. Some parts of Mount Dora are in the county because addresses are determined by post office location not city limits so you would need to check with both agencies to get all the statistics. You can google both agencies and get their website. If you need any other information about living in Mount Dora or any Real Estate needs you may have please contact me and I will help in any way I can.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
