The agents are correct in demurring on this. Besides, you would not want to get someone's opinion on something as important as that. In many communities, especially one like Bridgeport, crime (or lack thereof) may vary from block to block. The police are the only ones who truly know what goes on in your particular block and they are usually quite helpful in giving you an honest viewpoint. While it is also helpful to ask a neighbor or two (presumably they have no hidden agenda, and might give you an insider's scoop), even neighbors don't always know what happens 2 doors down. So to be really sure, check with local police, and if you like what you hear, then knock on a few doors and say hi to potential neighbors. I did that before I bought my house.

You need to know that Realtors can not answer questions about crime or opinions on neighborhoods. Lynn's answer is correct. We can also not answer questions about what schools are best...

Keep that in mind when you are dealing with us. Thanks!
