I think you could say it is fairly normal for sellers to pay closing costs, especially in lower priced areas like Moreno Valley. It's always worth asking! Also, we lenders can often help you pay closing costs with a lender credit, especially since rates are so low right now.

I'm With Harold! But if you really want the house and don't need help w/ C/C then don't muddy the waters asking for them-clean offers stand a better chance of getting accepted. Consult your Realtor!GOOD LUCK.

Normal?
Define Normal?
Do people do it? Yes
Do all people do it? no
Do most people do it? Nope
Do some people do it to get the property sold fast? yep
Is this a sellers market? Yes
Does this mean the property will sell without paying closing costs? More than likely.
It depends on the shape of the house.

Again is it the Norm? Not lately.

Many moons ago, maybe more than a 100, it may have been the norm.
It was also a buyers market then.

It all depends upon the contract and how you've written it up.

I's common for sellers to pay some or all of the buyer's closing costs, however in this type of "sellers-market" I find many times that sellers have other offers to choose from that are not asking for any costs to be paid. Another common negotiating tool is "stacking-costs". Get with your Realtor and have them explain the benefits and circumstances of seller paid closing costs.
