Is cross roads area, bellevue,wa a safe neighbourhood? Can someone provide some statistics on the crime rate inthat area. I am looking at townhouses in that area? Any suggestions please
Also, the crossroads area has transformed dramatically in the last few years. It use to be all apartments and small mom and pop shops, but now - WOW. They have changed apartments into gorgeous condos (although still small), built new townhomes that are selling for $400K +.....I think Crossroads has potential, but do check the crime rate and any other public stats. Also, schools are a good indicator - http://www.schoolmatters.com will give you comparables for schools in Bellevue!
Good luck!
Nis,
Possibly the best resource for issues of neighborhood safety are the local police or county sheriff's department. They have access to the most current and accurate information and are generally very willing to be helpful.
Good luck
As a young Realtor that grew up in the Overlake/Crossroad area I can attest to the fact that it is a fun area to live. You live in close proximity to local parks, movie theatres, youth activity locations, shopping centers, and main transportation routes.
There are many great buying opportunities in that area. You would be making an excellent decision to live in Overlake/Crossroads. Below is a link to the Bellevue Police Department crime map. You can go back day-by-day and pinpoint where and what type of crime occured in a particular neighborhood. You will find that Crossroads does not come up very often.

Dear Nisbuyer,
Your question is definitely relative to other crime statistics in different areas. Crossroads has a reputation for being less safe than the rest of the Eastside. What is important to note is that the entire Eastside is so low, that one of my policemen clients once told me they like to go over to Seattle to have some more challenging assignments.
The Bellevue city website has some crime statistic information. You can "Google" Bellevue and find the city's official website.
Good luck in your home search.
Warmly,
Karen

I usually suggest that my buyers check with the local police department to get safety information
on any given neighborhood. If you are looking at townhome I might also suggest that you knock
on the doors of some of the current owners and ask them.

Hi Nisbuyer,
take a look at the referenced website.
and you can compare it to Seattle here:
