West Point is a great area to live. I have relatives that live there and like it very much.
There are great prices in many areas in West Point and in neighboring cities.

Quite Honestly, you would be hard pressed Not make a smart purchase in this market. Between the prices of homes, the interest rates lower than they have Ever been and the incentives being offered, especially if you are a 1st time homebuyer, the label of "The Perfect Storm" is right on point.

I think buying a home in West Point is a great idea, if West Point is where you want to live. If you are a first time homebuyer, I am sure one of the hesitations you must be feeling right now is that you DON'T want to make a mistake, however what I tell my homebuyers is that it is the emotional connection to the home and it's surroundings that is important. The most entreating value of a home is that it is just that....home. If West Point (and I happen to like that area and have sold homes there) is comfortable for you...if you feel at home there....that is where you should be looking.

On the practical side, there are advantages like Rural Housing that will help you get into a home, especially if you don't have a lot of money for downpayment. Housing prices are less there than they are in Salt Lake, so that is an advantage too.

So, if you have a home you are looking at...Go for it! If you want to look at homes in the West Point area, I would invite you to visit http://www.searchsaltlakehomes.com where you can find homes in West Point and other areas that might interest you. And...if you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!

Buying a home in West Point could be a great purchase. The community (as well as other West Davis County communities) has alot to offer and is considered to be one of the more desirable places to purchase by many home buyers. Prices have also moved in the buyers favor in the last year out there and there is good amount of inventory to choose from.

That being said, you should do your research on the particular home and neighborhood that you purchase in. Have a local real estate broker do market analysis on the home before making an offer, verify the schools (if applicable to your situation), and don't be scared to look around. There are plenty of houses for sale. Take the time to find the one that best suits your needs.

Happy House Hunting,
