Is Santee a good area to buy home as an investment? Is the area going to be upscale anytime soon?

Ranie, Santee is a great little San Diego community. It is one of the fastest growing commercial communities - with almost any type of shopping available within 10 minutes.

As another home buyer stated - Santee is not, and probably never will be, La Jolla. It is a well priced community with a smaller town feel and a lot of nearby amenities.

If you are looking for INCREDIBLE values right now as an investor - I would look in Oceanside and Chula Vista. Depending on your price range, San Elijo may also be a great place to look. In our experience, the communities with a lot of new construction over the past 8 years have a lot of foreclosures. Due to the foreclosures, these same communities reflect substantially lower prices.

Ranie,

Are you looking for investment properties? If so, are you looking for cash flow, appreciation, tax benefits, instant equity, or a combination of any listed?

Look forward to hearing back from you!

Yes, Santee is a very nice place to live and raise a family. I don't think it will ever be a La Jolla. I would stick to the coast if that is what you are looking for. Try Oceanside. They have some very nice areas there and they are inproving the areas that needed the work in the past. Moreover, the home prices are far below what you cane find in Santee. A far superior location for investment. Santee is better for family.IMO
