Hi Megalloy,
Both Carrie and Pam gave excellent answers, and they are absolutely right. In fact, DeSoto County as a whole has maintained it's integrity in the wake of this national downturn in the housing market. Olive Branch has an average home sale price of $245,900 as of today. I agree with Carrie that they will remain fairly solid going forward. The schools are in the top 15% in Mississippi, and we also have the top rated police force in the state. Schooldigger.com is a website I refer to parents looking for more information about schools in a particular area. You can search ranking, locations and details about any school you are interested in. Great question!

Megalloy,
While I don't have a crystal ball, I do believe looking at the numbers and trends in the area that Olive Branch properties will continue to hold their value going forward. We have the great school system, the proximity to Memphis, parks and recreation and many other community benefits that will continue to thrive. Thanks for asking.

By "the next Collierville" do you mean packed wall-to-wall with development? Olive Branch has a while to go before that happens, but it has grown by leaps and bounds over the past 5 years.

The average sales price in Olive Branch (for single family residential) has declined by around 5%-10% from the previous year. That's not great, but it does beat most of the numbers you see on the evening news. That number may be a reflection that most, if not all of the economic incentives for buyers specifically target first-time homebuyers. Before the economic downturn, builders were targeting Olive Branch for move-up buyers and more high-end housing.

Olive Branch contines to attract businesses and of course, a big plus is the Desoto County school system.
