Is John Laing perceived to be a good home builder?

FIRST ANSWER
I have always felt John Laing to be a good builder. In fact, I am currently negotiating a deal to purchase a John Laing in Stapleton right now.
I'm sure you already know that John Laing filed for bankruptcy earlier this year, but as long as you are not interested in purchasing a home that is still under the builder's warranty that should not be an issue.
They were apparently another casualty of the financial crisis. I don't think they went out of business due to quality issues.
