Is DHS safe for my family?
I noticed some beautiful newer homes in the West part of Desert Hot Springs, close to the golf course. Some are in gated communities. With all I have been reading about the crime in DHS are these gated communities safe? Why are more people not buying here vs. the more expensive areas such as Palm Springs

FIRST ANSWER
I have lived in the Desert Hot Springs area for 8 years and I love it . I do live in the outlying area to the west and not " in town ". It's quiet and peaceful with really nice neighbors. I have raised my kids there and they are good kids, we have never been in danger there . The only thing that ever scared them was occasional coyote yipping
