was leaking pipes in the crawl space. How big of a problem is this and can we ask the seller to repair this?

FIRST ANSWER

Any moisture under the house is a potential problem, mainly mold and termites. During your inspection period, have this checked out by a professional to determine the problem, solution and cost to correct. Then you can ask the sellers to repair the leak or to give you money at closing to have it repaired yourself.
