XLUVDOE, Renter in Philadelphia, PA

In the process of divorcing and moving back to Philly. Any chance of me getting a mortgage and being considered to purchase a home?

Asked by XLUVDOE, Philadelphia, PA Sun Apr 21, 2013

I am in the process of divorcing and relocating back to the Philadelphia area with my mother and 2 children. I own my home in the NE PA area. I am an RN and have only worked sporadically for the past several years. I think it would make sense to try and own my home and not just rent when I return to Philly. Is there any chance of me getting a mortgage and being considered to purchase a home?

It's totally possible. What you need to do is allow an experienced Loan Officer to review all your documentation and determine if you qualify and if so, what do you qualify for. Because you already own a home, it's something that we would look into to see if you'll be renting it out, or was it left to your ex as part of a divorce agreement, etc. it's important for any Loan Officer to have all the necessary documentation from the beginning so that when he/she pre-approves you, it's a more reliable pre-approval.

Consider reaching out to a Loan Officer, that's your starting point. If you need a reliable Loan Officer, I'm always available. Feel free to contact me any time. Best of luck!
