My broker only contacts me for money (e.g., paying for the appraisal) and financial proof documentation (W2s, income tax filings, etc.). However, he tells the realtors all my information, including how much I am pre-approved and the appraisal value. I have to learn it second-hand, hat in hand. Is this ethical?

The lender did NOT provide me with the appraisal prior to closing. According to my title company, this is illegal.

You can fire your mortgage broker at any time and hire another assuming there is no contract between you two. If you are not comfortable with your lender dont feel obligated to move forward!
