in the Westchester area. As a first time buyer, i don't have the knowledge of how i should prepare. Are there Realtors willing to walk buyers through the process 8-10 months before making a purchase
Glen:
As you can see, there is quite an abundance of qualified offers from very qualified professionals, and I must agree that verifying you finances is a must. I would also recommend to sit and draw out a list of priorities and important factors that will be influencing your decision. You might want to consider the difference between co-ops and condos, how close to the city you want to be, what type of building you prefer, school districts and criteria as simple as bedrooms and bathrooms. It is never too early to begin preparing for such an investment. Best of luck!!!

Glen
thank you for your question
There are lots of brokers that will help you with your Co-Op ro Condo
1st you will need to see a Mortgage Banker or your local bank to see what you can buy out there with your Income.
2nd once you have a preaproval from a bank or a banker you know have a base for what you are looking for.
3rd when you call my office or another realtor you now will be able to give them an idea of what you want and what you can afford to pay for it.
IF you have any other questions please do not hesitate to call us at 718-882-1200
Hi Glen,
It is alway important to get pre-qualified by a lender before you start your search so you know what price range you can work with. Your agent can recommend to you a certified lender who will help you and then you can start looking for your dream home.

I would be more than happy to walk you through the whole process as well as show you around. My offfice is in Riverdale but I grew up in westchester and sell there all the time. Please feel free to give me a call at your convenience. By the way, I have no problem spending 8-10 months with a client/customer. It is important to understand the market and the aparments that are available to you. I am an expert with condos and co-ops and would be happy to help you prepare for the boards.

Glen, I am sure an agent from that area will come along...............they should be more than happy to discuss and explain the entire home biuying process with you, even if it's in advance. Any smart agent will, anyway!
I once took out clients who said they wouldn't buy for at least 6 months......I said, "ok"., let's go and look anyway..........well, they bought a house they saw the very first day I took them out!
If you don't connect with someone from your area here on Trulia, look for a local agency, and stop by. Speak to the manager, and ask to be referred to an agent. Any Prudential Doulgas Elliman offices around?
Good luck!
