Carriage House = Today it means a small detached house with a garage incorporated into a two story house.

Estate Homes are large homes on large lots. Often they are fancier and have lots more upgrades.

In the Hoffman Estates Illinois area Carriage would be a marketing word for townhomes probably and estates would mean detached single family.
There are some great buys on some slightly used and better than new young homes in this area.
