Im in the UK & am moving to the Hudson area later this year. Where do i start?

I have no credit history in the USA and have never lived there before. I have no problem with a VISA as my wife is American. I own a property in the UK but am unfortunately aware that my credit history in the UK will do nothing for me! Any tips or places to start would be most helpful. I need to get a mortgage as the lump sum I will have wont be enough. On a $150,000 property I would probably need a mortgage for approximately $130,000 but this is only an estimate. Appreciate your help if you can provide it.

Have you found a Realtor yet in Hudson, FL. I have been a Realtor here since 1994 - I would be more than happy to help you find a home here.

As has already been stated, there are many lenders with flexible programs that might help you. If by "Hudson" you mean the Hudson River Valley of New York State, I'd be happy to give you any assistance that I can. We work with a huge number of international buyers and sellers. Let me know if I can help.

I know a lot of banks that will lend to foreign nationals, but as I am sure you are aware of, it is a little harder to get money out of them. But if you would like to discuss it further give me a call or e-mail me.

As an ex-pat I am aware of the worry you are going thru at the moment. If you have found yourself a good Realtor local to where you want to live , they will be able to recommend a good mortgage broker. The broker will be up-to-date with all the mortgages available and will be able to guide you in the right direction. I believe they still offer "No Doc or Income Verification Mortgages" but they do require a 25% + deposit. If you need help finding a Realtor email me.
Best Regards
