I believe that you can still claim the credit.
You should consult a CPA....

The FHA Non-Occupying Co-Borrower Loan is a great deal and I believe that this loan still allows you to claim the credit!!!

We see very few lenders that will allow co-signers in todays market.
It's not the loan that counts, it is the ownership of the home.
Sometimes this must co-exist.

My understanding is that if you are not a married couple & one of you qualifies you can claim the credit & allocate between you.
