Hi Markus, In Colorado there isn't any Sales Tax on a purchase of a home unless the Home Owner has included in the purchase, large items like a boat, car,etc. There are property taxes that the Seller of the home has to pay up to the date of closing, and if you are getting a mortgage, your lender will debit you for real estate property taxes to form an escrow acct to pay your future taxes. In OH, the Seller pays a transfer tax for all the real estate you purchase. The only sales tax issue I'm aware of is with manufactured housing, which is more popular in the South for a retirement home. In that case, you would pay a sales tax on the purchase on the manufactured home. When the manufactured home arrives & is sucurely attached to the ground (ie, no wheels), then everthing becomes real property (real estate).

There could be some other smaller taxes or fees involved, but there is no sales tax on real eatate.
