It is very inportant that you check with Weehawken regarding their particular ordinances, because there is a law on the books that prohibits more than a certain number of unrelated adults from occupying the same home. You definitely would have a problem with renting out individual rooms, unless you plan on occupying the property yourself and have what it considered roommates. However, again the number of unrelated adults occupying one premises is subject to Township ordinances. If you purchase a single family home and do not intend to occupy it, but just use it as a rental property, then you may rent it out to a group of individuals...again based on the number of unrelated adults vs. the size of the home.
Good luck with your search. The Weehawken Building Department can be reached by calling 201-319-2058

Just be careful and make sure that the tenants are all on signed leases and that you have security deposits. Also Weehawken is a tight knit community so if you do rent out individual rooms to a large, remember some neighbors can be nosy.
Hope this helps!

First off its best if you check with Weehawken rental and boarding home regulations and laws. Every town is different pertaining to the layout of the home, the number of bathrooms and the size of the home. So it maybe possible to rent the rooms out and the same goes for a group of people renting the home. Hope this information is helpful to you. Have a great day!
However, if you plan to do this make sure your mortage company knows it is an investment property and make sure your insurance company knows you are renting it or parts of it out.
